Ohio Middle School Survey Outrages Parents
Questions about Sexual Orientation
In the Beavercreek, Ohio school district, students recently received a “school climate” survey online from a group called “YouthTruth Student Surveys” and parents are livid about the intrusive nature of the survey itself, particularly one question that middle schoolers were asked.
School "gay" clubs (like this banner at Lakota) proclaim homosexual "pride" to peers
The problematic question was this: “Which of the following best describes your sexual orientation?” Options given: “Straight/heterosexual; Gay or lesbian; Bisexual; Pansexual; Asexual; or Questioning my sexual orientation.”
A sixth grade girl told her parents, and that prompted calls and contacts to the school board and the superintendent, Paul Otten. The school sent an apology to parents, saying that question was not supposed to be included in the middle school survey. But administrators also told parents that the survey was “always an option” and that “the survey could have been submitted with questions skipped or left blank.”
That excuses official school corruption? These kinds of questions serve to normalize deviant sexual behavior, now apparently among younger and younger children.
It doesn’t belong in the high school survey, either. In fact, the survey itself has many parents concerned. Parental notice was not given and now, a national “survey” organization has the IP/addresses/online contact information of thousands of students.
Interesting that Beavercreek’s Coy Middle School included this in their announcements for Thurs., October 8:
“We have a new club starting up here at Coy called the Allies Club. The mission of this club is to raise awareness and educate ourselves and the student body on topics relating to the LGBTQ+ community. The club provides a safe and inclusive space for all members of the school community regardless of race, gender, ethnicity, religion, orientation or ability. If you are interested in joining the new Allies Club, please complete the survey found in the grade level Google Classrooms later today. If you have any questions, please reach out to Ms. Trumbull or Mrs. Minton who will be serving as the club advisors.”
